Fire forces evacuation of Rathgar building

An apartment block in Rathgar in Dublin has been evacuated this evening after a fire broke out in the basement of the building.

Three units of the Dublin Fire Brigade attended the fire after receiving an alert at around 6.40pm.

All residents were evacuated safely but will have to seek alternative accommodation overnight as there is water damage to the building and no electricity.
