Bernard Allen has criticised the decision by a member of the FÁS board to speak on RTÉ while the chairman of the State training agency was dealing with the Public Accounts Committee.
Mr Allen, who is the chair of PAC, said the Committee had written to Neil Saul asking to appear before the committee, but as yet, it has received no response.
Reading from a statement before the start of proceedings this morning, Mr Allen said the committee had no difficulty with Mr Saul speaking in the public domain on the Pat Kenny radio programme.
However, he was critical of the timing of Mr Saul's appearance on Today With Pat Kenny on 2 October.
