Nominations will close in two weeks' time and the ballot will continue until 11am on 14 December. Results will be known two days later.

Only members of the Dáil and the Seanad can vote in the elections.

The vacancies were caused by the death of Fianna Fáil Sen Tony Kett, and the election of Labour's Alan Kelly to the European Parliament.
