Man freed in Derry crash inquiry

A 22-year-old man, arrested by police in Derry following a fatal road accident early yesterday morning, has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Marty Gallagher, 24, from Sandale Park in Derry, died after being struck by a car on the Racecourse Road in Shantallow.

He was a prominent member of the Foyle Valley Athletic Club and had taken part in a number of marathons.
