Facebook to double Irish workforce

Social networking website Facebook is to create 70 new jobs in Ireland by next year as it doubles its workforce to 140.

The company established its European headquarters in Dublin this time last year.

The new jobs will be in advertising sales, engineering and online operations.

Speaking at the announcement, IDA Chief Executive Barry O'Leary said it was possible that Facebook could have a multiple of its projected staff numbers in future years.
