200 new jobs to be created in Clonmel

200 new jobs are expected to be created in Clonmel at the new Showgrounds shopping centre.

The shopping centre was officially opened by Taoiseach Brian Cowen.

Clonmel's new shopping outlet has 32 retail units including Marks and Spencer.

300 people are already employed at the Showgrounds shopping centre which is the only centre to open in Ireland this year.

The mayor of Clonmel Dinny Dunne said the new shopping centre is of immense importance to the economy of the area.
