Man charged over Limerick road death

A 38-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a man killed in a car accident near Limerick almost two weeks ago.

Jason Gormley of Rathlynn, Castleconnell, is charged with dangerous driving causing the death of 53-year-old Aidan Lawless in a two-car collision at Ahabeg, Ballysimon on the night of 4 October.

Mr Lawless, a native of Clonmel was leaving his daughter back to college in Limerick when his car was involved in a collision with a jeep.

Mr Gormley has already been charged with failing to report the accident to gardaí that night.

He has been remanded in custody until 27 October.
