Liquidator appointed to Babcock Networks

A provisional liquidator has been appointed to a telecoms equipment company which employs 64 people.

Babcock Networks Ireland, with offices in Ballymount in Dublin and Athlone, Co Westmeath, employs 64 staff, the majority of whom are field-based engineers.

The principle business of the company is the construction, installation and commissioning of telecommunications equipment.

They provide highly-skilled services to large multinational phone manufacturers such as Ericsson, Nokia and Motorola, with 85% of its work carried out for Ericsson.

Ken Fennell, of provisional liquidator Kavanagh Fennell, hopes to sell the business as a going concern.
