The head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog, Mohamed ElBaradei, has said inspectors are to visit a recently-revealed uranium enrichment plant in Iran later this month.

Mr ElBaradei is in Iran where he met officials to discuss an inspection of the facility in Qom.

He said he hoped Iran would be 'as transparent as possible' with monitors.

Mr ElBaradei said there was no 'concrete proof' that Iran was seeking nuclear weapons capability, but added the International Atomic Energy Agency remained concerned over the possibility.

The US had urged Iran to give the IAEA 'unfettered access' to the facility within two weeks.
