Commenting on claims that many of the recommendations of the report would be shelved, Mr Cowen said there was a long-term focus on reforming the tax system, which the Government would tackle over the coming years.
The Taoiseach said he thought the immediate issue facing the country was the 'unsustainability' of the public finances.
