The Board is to challenge the British government over the planned spending cutbacks.

The plan to slash the NI Policing Board's budget is part of the swingeing cutbacks proposed across the public sector by the British Exchequer.

Excluding wages and administration costs, this would reduce the PSNI's budget by 10% - a cut the Policing Board says is not acceptable.

Board members and senior PSNI officers will challenge the cutbacks when they meet the North's Security Minister later this month.
