Renewed appeal over Phoenix Park body

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information regarding the murder of a woman in the Phoenix Park.

The woman's body was discovered with a number of stab wounds in a wooded area of the park on Wednesday.

Gardaí have released a second photograph of the woman (below) in the hope that somebody will be able to identify her.

Despite extensive enquiries, gardaí have been unable to identify the dead woman.

Gardaí believe that she may be a foreign national and may not yet have been missed by her family and friends.

The woman was 4'10" in height, of medium build and had short brown hair.

She had light brown eyes and was aged between late 30s and early 40s.

Investigating officers are appealing to two people who initially found the body to contact them.

Any person who was in the general area in the days leading up to this discovery or who may use the area and may have seen anything unusual or suspicious are asked to contact Cabra Garda Station on 01-666 7400,
