The Leitrim Post newspaper is to cease publication due to the economic downturn.
The Rivermedia Group said that due to a significant advertising downturn specific to the Leitrim market, it has had no option but to cease publication of the paper.
Three journalists and two part-time photographers have been made redundant as a result but two advertising staff have been redeployed.
The company says that the situation in Leitrim is in stark contrast to the performance of its other 12 regional titles, which are performing very well.
