Today, on the first day of his trial, 18-year-old Sean Patrick McKee from Ballymurphy Road in west Belfast pleaded guilty to stabbing the 65-year-old.

The teenager also pleaded guilty to a number of other charges including threatening to kill another man and being to being in possession of a number of other weapons.

Two others, Patrick Joseph Crossan, 18, from Willowbank Gardens and a 17-year-old girl who cannot be named due to her age, are also accused of murder.

They were not present in court today but are expected to appear tomorrow.

A prosecution barrister told the court that in light of Sean McKee's guilty pleas there were matters which he needed to consider with those instructing him.

Mr Justice Weir adjourned sentencing in the case of McKee so that social enquiry reports are drawn up on him and a victim impact statement obtained from Mr Holland's family.
