Three people were killed in separate road crashes in counties Mayo and Galway today.
A child was killed after being struck by a car in Ballina, Co Mayo at around 1.30pm.
It is believed the girl was about two years old. The incident occurred near her home in the Riverside Estate.
Elsewhere, a man in his 50s died when his car left the road on the Castlebar to Galway Road at Ballyheane at around 12.30pm.
Meanwhile, another man in his 50s died following a road traffic accident near Oranmore, Co Galway, this morning.
The crash happened at 8.20am when the car the man was travelling in entered a field at Carnmore Cross near the N6.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to Galway University Hospital where a postmortem will be carried out.
