Man dies in Clare road crash

A 32-year-old man has died after his car collided with a truck in Co Clare.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at Killulla in Newmarket-on-Fergus at 2am.

It is understood the dead man was from the locailty.

His body has been taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where a post mortem will take place today.

The truck driver escaped serious injury.

Garda crash scene investigators have examined the scene.

Meanwhile, the man who died in a crash in Co Tipperary yesterday has been named as 44-year-old DJ Meehan from Clonoutly, Cashel.

Mr Meehan was killed in a three-vehicle collision at Ballinattin, Rosegreen at 2.45pm.

Two other people were injured in the crash.
