The High Court has appointed a liquidator to the Rebel Bar Company.
The company operates a number of bars in Cork city and the surrounding area.
Kieran Wallace of KPMG has said his intention is for the company to continue trading normally.
However, a temporary closure of some premises may be necessary in order to secure appropriate licensing.
The company said it will to make every effort to secure the jobs of the 145 staff.
