Taxi drivers in Galway City have staged an hour-long lunchtime protest as part of the ongoing national campaign to halt the granting of any more new licences.
Between midday and 1pm drivers at the city's two main ranks refused to take passengers.
The Galway Taxi Association said members of the public were able to get taxis by hailing them on other streets or by calling taxi companies.
The association says it wanted to demonstrate its strong support for the national campaign but did not want to cause unnecessary hardship to the general public.
