A bus manufacturing company based in Gaoth Dobhair, Co Donegal, has announced that it is letting 62 of its staff go.
Euró Iompú Teo was set up in the Údarás na Gaeltachta Business Park in Gaoth Dobhair in 1985.
The company said it had made every effort to generate sales and had been forced recently to impose an extended period of short-time work and layoffs due to the present economic climate.
Support for Kilcar company
Earlier today the Údarás announced a a support package consisting of capital and training grants for a Kilcar-based company, Cuan Tamhnaigh Teo, which produces carpets for aeroplanes and a fabric and upholstery finishing service for the aviation industry.
The company is now going to focus on upholstery material for buses and trains and is expected to increase its workforce of 39 people to 77 over the next three years.
