Severe ice expected in morningWednesday 04 February 2009 21.40
AA Roadwatch is warning drivers not to become complacent after the improved weather today as severe ice is expected tomorrow morning.
With air temperatures set to drop as low as -3 degrees, road temperatures could drop even lower.
Many areas in the Wicklow and Dublin mountains did not thaw out today and will freeze again tonight.
Traffic updates: AA Roadwatch
There were heavy snowfalls on the Wicklow mountains where four motorists were stranded in two 4X4 vehicles in the Sally Gap until around 10am this morning.
The four were airlifted to Blessington. Anne Fitzpatrick of Wicklow Mountain Rescue said they were safe and well.
Mountain rescuers on skis had brought them food and blankets earlier this morning.
