Independent TD Finian McGrath has called on the National Roads Authority to allow IKEA to open its new store in Ballymun immediately, rather than wait for the completion of the M50 upgrade.
One of the planning conditions on the new store was that it could not open until the upgrade was finished.
Deputy McGrath said it was ready to open next month and would provide 400 new jobs.
He said those jobs were more important than a few minutes delay on the M50 and he called for the condition to be removed.
