The President of the European Central Bank has warned that the Eurozone economy faces pressing challenges in the wake of the global financial crisis.
Speaking at the European Parliament in Strasbourg this morning, Jean-Claude Trichet said that the authorities could not afford to be complacent.
He said that the ECB was playing its part to address the weaknesses that had been revealed in the global financial system.
He was speaking during a debate marking the 10th anniversary of the Euro.
