Guns found in organised crime inquiry

Gardaí investigating the activities of an organised criminal gang in west Dublin have recovered seven firearms.

The five shotguns and two rifles were found during a planned search near Palmerstown Wood.

Officers from Clondalkin and Kilmainham carried out the searches yesterday evening.

No arrests were made.

The weapons have been sent for ballistics and forensic examinations to determine if they have been used in any shootings.
