A man has been killed in a road crash in Co Down.

The victim of the accident was a well known celebrity PR agent in Northern Ireland.

Colin Angus, who was 40, was killed in the road accident at 4am this morning when his silver Mazda sports car crashed off a country road in the Craigantlet Hills, near Newtownards.

Mr Angus, who was alone in the two-seater, died when the car struck a number of trees and went on fire.

Police said no other vehicle was involved in the collision.

He was the 102nd person to die on the roads in NI this year.

He ran a high-profile PR company, Colin Angus Promotions, and listed among his clients model Alex Best, widow of the late soccer star George, the English actor Patrick Mower, and BBC and UTV personalities.
