An Bord Pleanála has rejected the latest objection to the controversial €300m Corrib gas refinery which is under construction in Co Mayo.
Two local residents - Monica Muller and Peter Sweetman of Rossport South - have objected to Mayo County Council's decision to allow changes be made to the original refinery plans.
These related to the height and design of buildings within the complex, the construction of bunds around storage tanks access points, security fencing, the erection of satellite communications equipment and the raising or road levels.
The county council approved the changes in May of this year.
Today An Bord Pleanála upheld that decision.
It said it did so having regard to the planning history relating to the terminal site, the strategic importance of the proposed development both nationally and regionally, the Government's policy in relation to energy supply and because of what it described as the relatively minor nature of the alterations and modifications proposed.
