Motorcyclist killed in Louth crash

A 27-year-old man has died after his motorcycle collided with a truck on the Beamore Road in Drogheda.

The crash happened at around 3.30 pm.

The victim was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital but was prounounced dead on arrival.

No-one else was injured in the crash.

The road is closed while a technical examination takes place.

Elsewhere, a man was killed in a road accident in Co Donegal at around 12.30am.

The 40-year-old was walking along the N15 between Ballyshannon and Donegal town when he was struck by a car.

His body was removed to Letterkenny General Hospital for a post mortem examination.

In Co Antrim a 16-year-old girl was killed after she was struck by a vehicle on the Stoneyford Road outside Lisburn.

She has been named as Elyce Lewsey from the Oakridge area of Lisburn.

The incident happened around 9pm last night. The PSNI has appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

A 20-year-old man who was seriously injured in a road crash in Newry nine days ago has died in hospital.

He was Daniel David McCormack from Castlewellan.

The PSNI has renewed an appeal for witnesses to the fatal collision, which occurred on the Hilltown Road on Thursday, 23 October.
