Gardaí say traffic onto the site is moving much better today and there were no major hold-ups this morning.

Sunny weather helped attract 70,000 visitors to the event yesterday.

It was the best ever turnout on an opening day of the show.

The huge attendance led to long delays on some of the main routes leading onto the site. Last night, gardaí carried out a review of the situation.

Today's events include loy digging, the senior horse and tractor classes, as well as the ladies competition - known as the farmerette class.
