The invitations from Curves on Lime Street were sent to a number of local school principals last week.
Staff and students over the age of 12 were invited for a free tour and 'figure analysis'.
A National Parents Council spokesperson described the letter as worrying.
Curves has apologised for any offence caused by the letter and says it was not endorsed by Curves International.
The company also says it does not target younger women.
The owner of the gym has withdrawn the letter (below), saying the wording was misleading.
The gym is owned by Sahra O'Neill, the niece of billionaire Denis O'Brien, who is also a shareholder, according to the Sunday Business Post.
This is not the first time Curves has met controversy. In the US, the company was boycotted after it was revealed that its founder, Gary Heavin, donated millions of dollars to pro-life causes.
