In what will be a separate service to that provided by the city council, money will be spent on street cleaning, graffiti removal and landscaping over the next five years.

The initiative by the Dublin City Business Improvement District will see a district set up within Dublin 1 and Dublin 2 covering 115 streets.

They include Parnell Street to St Stephen's Green and from South Great George's Street to Talbot Street.

Street ambassadors will patrol the capital offering to clean up graffiti and litter within one hour of it being reported.
