The Samaritans says too much pressure is being placed on final-year students to achieve top grades.
The charity says its helpline (1850-609090) is open to anyone who is worried about their post-school options.
Spokeswoman Mary Malcolm advised students waiting for their results to take it easy and to share any concerns with others.
'The important thing that we've always stressed is the talking part,' she said. 'Talk to a friend, talk to a family member. Tomorrow will pass.'
