Irish shoppers make savings abroad

Irish consumers believe that they are making savings of between 20% and 40% when shopping abroad.

Irish consumers believe that they are making savings of between 20% and 40% when shopping abroad, according to a survey out today.

The study conducted by Visa Europe also found that clothes and footwear were the most popular items bought abroad.

73% of consumers said that these items topped their shopping lists.

Almost half of women surveyed said they shop abroad because they can buy cheaper designer products, while 40% of men said they bought accessories like handbags and jewellery while abroad for their partners.
