Four men have been killed in three separate road crashes this evening.

A motorcyclist in his 30s died at the Grangecastle Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 at 6.30pm this evening.

Gardaí are investigating the single-vehicle crash.

The man's body has been removed to Tallaght Hospital where a post mortem will take place.

Separately, one man has died and another man has been seriously injured in a crash in Co Down.

A car collided with a wall at Kilkeel on the Newry Road shortly before 8.30pm this evening.

The road has been closed off and diversions are in place.

Earlier, two men were killed and several more people injured in a crash involving an express bus and two cars this evening.

The crash occured on the main road between Belfast and Larne, Co Antrim, close to the village of Ballynure.

The two men killed are believed to have been in their 40s.

Both deaths were in the same car a PSNI spokesman said.

The driver of the second car and several passengers on the bus were injured and taken to hospital.

They were all treated in the Antrim Hospital.

The road, the main route between Belfast and the busy ferry port of Larne, was closed to all traffic and was expected to remain so for a considerable time.
