Industry sources have said that former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern can expect to command fees of up to €100,000 an engagement if he chooses to pursue a career on the after-dinner speaking circuit.
A transcript of a speech he delivered to a human rights' group event in New York last month has appeared on his new website, www.bertieahernoffice.org, alongside copies of his speeches to the Joint Houses of Congress in Washington and the Joint Houses of Parliament in Westminster.
A spokesperson for Fianna Fáil said the website was designed for Mr Ahern as a point of contact in his personal capacity after his departure from the Department of the Taoiseach.
The biography section contains a profile of his political career and a three-minute video entitled 'Path to Peace'. It documents his 'great triumph' in securing a power-sharing settlement in the North.
As well as his achievements in the peace process, Brendan O'Connor of the London Speaker Bureau said that business organisations would be particularly interested to hear from Mr Ahern about his experience in steering the Celtic Tiger economy.
It is understood that Mr Ahern is being pursued by a number of agents working with after-dinner speakers.
