Collins denies plot was about money

A Co Clare woman accused of conspiring to murder her partner and his two sons has denied that the whole case was about money.

Sharon Collins of Kildysart Road, Ennis, and Essam Eid, an egyptian poker dealer from Las Vegas, deny conspiring to murder PJ Howard and his two sons Niall and Robert in August 2006.

The trial heard that in garda interviews Ms Collins denied suggestions that in the event of the death of the three Howard men she would produce a marriage certificate and claim to be PJ Howard's wife.

She denied the alleged murder plot was all about money and told gardaí 'money doesn't float my boat at all'.

Ms Collins had earlier told Gardai she had her suspicions about how she may have been framed and later told them there was 'a lot of dissatisfaction in the camp' on the part of Robert and Niall Howard when she and PJ Howard announced their engagement.
