At least seven people have been killed in a stabbing frenzy in a crowded part of Tokyo.
A man reportedly swerved his truck into a crowd before going on a knife rampage.
Japanese media said that the dead include five men aged 19, 20, 29, 47 and 74 and a 21-year-old woman.
At least 14 people people were injured in the attack in the Japanese capital.
It is believed that some of the injured are in serious condition.
The man was subdued after stabbing bystanders near the bustling train station of Akihabara, an area known for electronics stores and as a haven for fans of video games and comic books.
Reports identified the assailant as a 25-year-old man who told police he was 'tired of living'.
