Minister for European Affairs, Dick Roche, has said he does not believe there is a heave within the Fianna Fáil organisation against Taoiseach Bertie Ahern following revelations at the Mahon Tribunal.
Mr Roche said he believes Mr Ahern has the support and confidence of the parliamentary party.
Asked if he believed reports that Mr Ahern would be forced out of office within a year, Mr Roche said Mr Ahern is made of very stout stuff and retains the support of the rank and file of the party.
Mr Roche also said he did not get any sense that support for Mr Ahern was ebbing away because of the ongoing allegations at the tribunal.
