Probe into Dublin nightclub fireTuesday 18 March 2008 14.21
An investigation is under way to establish the cause of a fire at a Dublin nightclub earlier this morning.
No one was injured in the blaze which broke out in the Village nightclub on Wexford street at about 1.15am this morning.
Gardaí say security men at the front of the popular venue raised the alarm.
There were over 800 people in the Village at the time, all of whom were evacuated safely.
Five units of the Dublin Fire Brigade tackled the blaze, but gardaí say the fire affected mainly the front of the premises and the damage to the building was not extensive.
The street, which was closed to traffic, has since re-opened.
