A 31-year-old man has appeared before the District Court in Limerick in connection with an incident in a pub in the city last Sunday.
Garrett Fitzgerald of Claughaun Avenue, Garryowen, was charged with possession of an automatic weapon and a quantity of ammunition at Quilty's Pub in Thomondgate.
The court heard that the accused had suffered injuries during the alleged incident.
He was remanded in custody to appear in court again next Wednesday when an application for bail will be made.
