More than eight million contraband cigarettes have been seized by the Revenue Commissioners in Co Laois.
More than eight million contraband cigarettes have been seized by the Revenue Commissioners in Co Laois.
The cigarettes were found in a container that was delivered in error to a premises in Durrow and represent a potential loss in taxes to the Exchequer of €2.5m.
The container had originated in Spain and passed through Dublin Port.
An investigation is under way.
