The Health Service Executive has moved to try to defuse a row over therapeutic services for children with autism.

Earlier today the HSE confirmed that 17 schools in the Greater Dublin Area are waiting for therapeutic services for pupils with autism.

In a statement issued this evening, the HSE said it will decide within the next two weeks if the schools will get the services they say they need.
