The Government has appointed the first woman Chairman of the Revenue Commissioners.
Josephine Feehily will take over the job on Thursday of next week, following the retirement of the current Chairman, Frank Daly.
Ms Feehily has been a Revenue Commissioner since 1998, and is currently responsible for the Large Cases and Collector General's Division, as well as Policy, Legislation and International matters relating to Tax and Customs.
A native of Clarina, Co Limerick, she is a career public servant who previously worked in the Department of Social & Family Affairs, the Pensions Board and the Labour Relations Commission.
