Three men, who were being questioned in connection with the discovery of suspicious devices in Tralee, have been released.
All three have been released without charge but gardaí say they are continuing their inquiries.
Members of the Garda Technical Bureau began their examination of the apartment at Atlas House on McCowen's Lane in Tralee this morning.
It is understood that the devices which were discovered were all in one room of the apartment, which was sealed off pending their arrival.
Further analysis of the devices may be necessary to confirm what they are and this is expected to take a number of days.
Around 20 gardaí began a planned search of the Atlas House complex at yesterday evening.
The apartment block is used as a hostel for asylum seekers and foreign nationals.
Three men were arrested by gardaí during the search. It is understood that all three are from Afghanistan and are aged in their 30s and 40s.
Two of them have been in Tralee for around a year; the third arrived only recently.
At least one of the three men arrested has come to garda attention since his arrival in this country and he is among a number of people whose movements were being monitored.
Searches are continuing and items being seized will require further analysis.
