'No plan B' with EU treaty - Roche
Saturday, 1 March 2008Minister for European Affairs Dick Roche has said there will only be one referendum held in Ireland on the provisions of the Lisbon Treaty.
In a statement he said there was no plan B and there was absolutely no possibility of the Lisbon Treaty being renegotiated.
Without Irish ratification, he said the treaty was dead and that would have the most serious ramification for the whole of Europe.
He claimed it would also mean that Ireland would be throwing away all the goodwill that we have amassed in the EU over the years for no benefit.
