Primary school managers have written to the Taoiseach urging him to address what they say is chronic under-funding.
A letter signed by representatives of all primary school management bodies says the Government's decision not to double capitation grants this year is having serious consequences.
The managers have requested a meeting with Mr Ahern as a matter of urgency.
