A couple in Co Meath have been found guilty of defrauding two insurance companies by falsely pretending that the wife had suffered breast cancer.
Dr Emad Massoud, 52, and his wife, Gehan, were found guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court of defrauding two insurance companies of over €700,000 five years ago.
Dr Massoud has been remanded in custody for sentencing in March, while his wife has been remanded on continuing bail.
The consultant surgeon and his wife, a 45-year-old nurse, had pleaded not guilty to the charge.
