Dublin city officials have confirmed that John Gormley, Minister for the Environment has not moved to use his powers to stop the Poolbeg Incinerator since the issue was dealt with by An Bord Pleanala.

At this month's council meeting, assistant city manager Matt Twomey, said John Gormley had not told the council to change its waste management plan.

He added that the Environmental Protection Agency still had to preside over a public hearing on the issue by the end of April.
