One person has been killed in a road crash on the N20 Cork to Limerick Road in Banogue.

The single-vehicle collision happened just after 6am this morning.

The driver of a van was fatally injured after the vehicle left the road.

One lane of the road will remain closed pending a technical examination of the scene.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old man who died in yesterday's fatal crash at Ashmere, Roscrea Co Tipperary has been named as James Gibbons, from Newtownrahan, Tullamore, Offaly.
