Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has been visiting rural farming communities on the last day of his visit to Tanzania.
Mr Ahern is visiting the village of Ngudama to see at first hand the challenges facing the farming community in rural region.
He is also visiting the local primary school, which has 11 classrooms and caters for 552 with 16 teachers, and has received support from Irish Aid through the Primary Education Development Programme.
The Taoiseach was to meet some of the 33 Irish missionaries who are living and working in Tanzania.
Following this meeting, left leave Mwanza for Tanzania's largest city, Dar es Salaam, will be guest of honour at a reception for the Irish community.
The reception will be hosted by the Irish Ambassador, Anne Barrington.
The Ambassador's reception marks the end of the Taoiseach's official visit to Tanzania and he will depart for Dublin on Friday morning.
