The High Court has suspended the practising certificate of solicitor Michael Lynn.
The court was told this morning that the Law Society still does not know the whereabouts of Mr Lynn.
The court was also told that his case has now been referred to the Solicitors' Disciplinary Tribunal.
The president of the High Court, Mr Justice Richard Johnson, said he wanted to know if gardaí had been able to establish whether or not Mr Lynn was in the jurisdiction.
He said the international police should be asked to get involved if necessary.
The case has been adjourned until next Monday.
