Two Irish soldiers wounded in a roadside bomb in southern Lebanon yesterday are said to be 'in good spirits.'

RSM John McCormack and C/S David Williams spent last night in Hammoud Hospital in Saida where they had an opportunity to phone their families.

Initial indications suggest the cause the explosion was roadside bomb. However the UNIFIL investigation is not complete.

John McCormack, 49, from Drimnagh in Dublin, has been in the Defence Forces for 29 years. He has nine previous tours of duty overseas.

David Williams, 48, from Balbriggan in Dublin, has 30 years of service and has four previous tours of duty overseas.
